President Murmu praised Brahmakumaris, and acknowledge Rajasthan's contribution for women's empowerment

President Draupadi Murmu said if the world is led by women leaders, there would be more peace and justice. She said presently the world community is looking towards India for peace and compassion.

Murmu was addressing a large audience at the Brahma kumaris Headquarters at Abroad. It is Murmu's first visit to Rajasthan after being elected to the coveted position.

Praising the all women spiritual organisation Brahmakumaris, Murmu said the "Brahma kumaris are contributing in a great manner in the field of spirituality by spreading human values at a larger level."

"In the times of war and turmoil, the world community is looking at India with hope. We are emerging as a pioneer of peace and spirituality", she said.

Earlier in the day, at Jaipur Murmu inaugurated the constitution park at Raj bhawan. Emphasizing on the values elaborated in the constitution Murmu said "Baba Saheb Ambedkar believed that however good the constitution may be, it would be futile if the followers are not good and however bad a constitution may be, if the followers are good, the constitution is automatically glorified".

Murmu said Rajasthan has played a significant role in the empowerment of women and strengthening the principles of equality. She said it was the Sharda Act that was drafted in 1938 in Rajasthan, that abolished the malpractice of child marriage in the country.

On Wednesday, Murmu will inaugurate the 5 day scout guide camp at Rohat on the Pali-Jodhpur route. More than 35 thousand participants from across the nation are expected to attend the program.
