The Mooknayak's Impactful Journalism Recognized by Voice of America on Ambedkar's Mahaparinirvan Diwas

This is not the first time, the work of The Mooknayak has been recognised at the international level earlier New York Times, Deutschewalle, Le Figaro, Khaleej Times, Al-Jazeera have also profiled The news organisation established in 2021. New Delhi: On the occasion of the 67th death anniversary of Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the messiah of the underprivileged, International News broadcaster Voice of America recognized the work of The Mooknayak.

“Pick up any newspaper and you will find that the story of marginalised sections of the society is in small columns and is missing on Prime Time and news debates because there are not editors from the community,” Says Meena Kotwal, the founder of The Mooknayak as she appears in the video story done by Anjana Pasricha.

Caste-based discrimination has been outlawed and some Dalits have risen to high political posts but the prejudice is still pervasive against the 300 million strong Dalit Community” notes the report.

The report also mentions Mooknayak’s coverage of Ritu Singh’s protest against caste- based discrimination in Delhi University.

“Many such initiatives need to be taken, if you give voice to their aspiration then only the things will changes.” advises Neerja Chowdhary, a political analyst who appears in the video report.

International recognition of The Mooknayak augurs a bright future for the Bahujan Media.

The Recognition of The Mooknayak at the international levels augurs well for the Bahujan Media.

Voice of America is an International broadcaster owned by the government of United States of America. It is the largest and oldest US-funded international broadcaster. The fact that the news organisation produces digital, TV and radio content in 48 languages speaks for its global reach.
