Lucknow- The Congress party is set to stage a massive protest in Lucknow on Wednesday, aiming to besiege the Uttar Pradesh Assembly during its Winter Session. Party workers from various districts have already begun arriving in the city, prompting the Uttar Pradesh Police to heighten security measures.
The protest will target the policies of the Yogi Adityanath-led government, with the Congress party highlighting issues such as unemployment, inflation, communal politics, electricity shortages, healthcare, education, and the recent violence in Sambhal.
The police have issued notices to over two dozen senior Congress leaders, including Ajay Rai, Anil Yadav, and Dinesh Singh. The party leaders and workers are prepared to take to the streets, marking a significant escalation in political activity within the state.
The protest coincides with the ongoing Winter Session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, which began on December 17 and is scheduled to continue until December 20. The session is expected to address several critical issues facing the state, including the Sambhal violence, anti-encroachment drives, preparations for the Maha Kumbh, and the Jhansi hospital fire incident that resulted in the deaths of several newborn babies.
