People Vow by Constitutional Values on the occasion of Constitution Day

On 26th November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, which came into effect from 26th January 1950. Every year since 2015 when the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment notified the decision of Government of India to mark the 26th day of November every year as 'Constitution Day' to promote Constitution values among citizens. Constitution Day is celebrated all over the country and various programs are held to spread the awareness regarding constitutional values.

New Delhi: The Constitution Day was observed all over the country on 26th November. The main attraction of the event was the installation of the Ambedkar Statue at the Supreme Court. But the constitution day was observed all over the country through various means like bike rally, foot march, debate discussion etc.

Lucknow: Scores of Events to celebrate Constitution Day

A Samvidhan Diwas Samaroh was held at International baudh Shodh Sansathan of Gomati Nagar area of the city on the topic “ Constitution Buttresses the Democratic System, The event was organized by Buddh Ambedkar Kalyan Association the guest included people from all walks of life. The Chief guest of the event were Professor Kaushal Pawar from the IGNOU and Manju Lal and Dr Pyare lal. Speaking on the occasion Arjun deo Bharti, undersecretary at the home department said “The communal forces are trying to whip up communalism to digress the marginalized sections of the society from the path of constitution, but one must remember that during the independence movement there were Gandhi and Jinnah, but Ambedkar eschewed both of them and abided the path of secularism and democracy. He also said that the SC/ST/OBC should avoid violence as it also goes against constitutional values. Anushka Gautam, a young singer regaled the audience by her rendition of songs devoted to the struggles of Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar.

Indian Social justice Mission Trust organized a foot march called Samvidhan Sankalp Yatra, The Yatra started from Maharaja Bijli Pasi quila and culminated at the Ambedkar Statue at Hazratganj, covering a distance of around 10 kilometers. During this the people having faith in the constitution took oath of safeguarding the constitution. Karamveer Azad, the President of Indian Social Justice Mission Trust said that his organization will go to villages to spread awareness about the constitution. He said that the people opposed to the constitution often criticize the Indian constitution and action should be taken against them, he said that the Prime Minister should take action against Bibek Deboroy, the chairman of Economic Advisory Council, who spoke against the constitution.

Ashok Kumar Baudh, also known as Sanvidhan Pracharak took out a bike rally, starting from Barabanki to Lucknow, He was accompanied by a truck which played the songs devoted to Babasaheb Ambedkar, he covered around 50 villages in Lucknow and Barabanki, The participants of the rally distributed pamphlets to raise awareness about the constitution.

BBAU: “Run for Constitution Values” was organized by Ambedkar Students Dalit Students Union (AUDSU) at Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University Lucknow the march which began at Ashoka Hostel ended at Ambedkar statue near Ambedkar Bhawan.

YUVA Dastak: Celebrating one year of its establishment

Jalaun: Yuva Dastak observed the constitution day at jalaun it marked one year of its formation. After garlanding the statue of father of constitution Dr B.R. Ambedkar the group held a reading of the Preamble. This was followed by a discussion in separate panels of advocates, journalists and activists . Kuldeep Kumar, the founder of Yuva Dastak told The Mooknayak that a Yuva Dastak is a campaign with a vision of 25 years”. The members of this group are sending letters to President, Prime Minister, Chief Justice etc to seek promise of redeeming the constitutional values of the constitution.

Foot March in Patna

A foot march was organized at Patna from Patna Zoo to Haj House by National Youth Equity Forum and moderated by Ajeet Shekhar. Speeches were given by the participants and Mohd Ali (Asst Professor) was declared the winner. In his speech he highlighted that it was a big achievement of Dr B.R Ambedkar that the drafting committee members heard each other and arrived at a consensus overcoming their differences and that such a thing is unthinkable in today’s time.

Ajeet Shekhar moderator of the event told The Mooknayak that each participant was felicitated by a copy Joothan ,written by Omprakash Valmiki and constitution preamble as well as plants.
