Kanpur- Life imprisonment has been handed down to the perpetrator who, after abducting, raping, and murdering a minor girl in Uttar Pradesh on November 14, 2020, in the village of Ghatampur in the Kanpur Dehat district, callously removed her organs and consumed it.

This horrific act was orchestrated by a couple, Parshuram and Sunaina, acting on the advice of a Tantrik, all in a twisted attempt to conceive a son. After a three-year legal process, the Additional District Judge 13 under the POCSO Act sentenced the couple to life imprisonment, each accompanied by a fine of Rs 20,000, while their nephew Ankul and his accomplice Viren received the same sentence with a higher fine of Rs 45,000 each.

The gruesome incident unfolded when a seven-year-old girl went missing on the night of Diwali, only for her mutilated body to be discovered the following day in a field outside the village. The police, aided by a dog squad, traced the crime back to Ankul's residence, leading to the arrest of Parshuram and Sunaina. The investigation revealed that Ankul and Viren were the perpetrators who carried out the heinous crime under the influence of Tantra Vidya.

Following a complaint from the father, the police initiated an inquiry against Ankul, Vanshlal, Kamalram, Baburam, and Suresh of the village. Subsequent investigations uncovered that Parshuram and Sunaina, childless even after 19 years of marriage, sought the Tantrik's advice, who suggested that they could have a child by consuming the heart of a girl. The couple then entrusted Ankul with the ghastly task of procuring the organ.

Assistant Public Prosecutor Pradeep Pandey Pratham revealed that the investigation unearthed missing organs from the crime scene, and the evidence, along with witness statements, established that the child fell victim to the couple's desperate quest for parenthood through dark rituals. Special Public Prosecutor Ram Rakshit Sharma emphasized the significance of the testimony of a child witness who recounted playing with the victim and witnessing Ankul leading her away on the day of the incident.

In total, 10 witnesses and 21 pieces of documentary evidence formed the foundation for the convictions. The court's decision to impose life imprisonment on all four accused reflects the severity of their gruesome actions, bringing a semblance of justice to the grieving family and the community at large.
