Philadelphia, PA — In a landmark contribution to academia and cultural enrichment, the Ambedkar Association of North America (AANA) has bestowed the University of Pennsylvania Library with the complete set of Babasaheb Ambedkar Writing and Speeches (BAWS) volumes. The ceremonial donation took place at the University's esteemed 3420 Walnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19104 location.

The University of Pennsylvania, commonly known as Penn or UPenn, celebrated the addition of this literary treasure to its extensive collection. As a private Ivy League research university and one of the nine colonial colleges, UPenn holds a distinguished status as the fourth oldest institution of higher education in the United States. Its roots trace back to the pre-Declaration of Independence era when Benjamin Franklin, the university's founder and first president, championed the establishment of an educational institution dedicated to molding leaders in academia, commerce, and public service.

AANA, known for its commitment to educational initiatives, has previously donated BAWS volumes to prestigious institutions such as Wayne State University in Michigan, Georgia Tech in Atlanta, North Park University in Chicago, North Western University in Pacific University Oregon, Arizona State University, and Michigan State University. The University of Pennsylvania Library now joins this esteemed list, with a total of 18 volumes contributing to its academic resources.

These invaluable volumes, covering a spectrum of subjects from Politics and World Religion to Sociology and Human Psychology, were personally authored by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. An alumnus of Columbia University and a scholar at the London School of Economics, Dr. Ambedkar's profound contributions to various disciplines make this donation a momentous occasion for South Asian students, scholars, and faculty across the nation.

The AANA, founded in 2008 on the guiding principles of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, aims to uplift the downtrodden through education. The association's commitment to spreading Buddha's message of peace and kindness is evident in its multifaceted approach, encompassing cultural, educational, social, and economic activities among the South Asian Diaspora in North America.

The University of Pennsylvania Library, home to an extensive collection of knowledge, will make these volumes accessible to students in their respective fields of study. This significant donation marks another stride in AANA's mission to make Dr. Ambedkar's works available to a broader audience, enriching the educational landscape across the United States.
