Uttar Pradesh: A day after BSP chief Mayawati removed her nephew Akash Anand from all party positions, including National Coordinator, Akash Anand broke his silence on social media. Mayawati also declared that no one would be her successor while she is alive.

On Monday, Akash Anand took to social media platform X to express his thoughts on the decision:

"I am a dedicated cadre of respected Behen Kumari Mayawati Ji. Under her leadership, I have learned invaluable lessons of sacrifice, dedication, and commitment. These are not just principles but the purpose of my life. Every decision made by respected Behen Ji is final for me, and I stand by her choices with utmost respect."

"Behen Kumari Mayawati Ji’s decision to relieve me of all party responsibilities is personally emotional for me, but it also presents a great challenge. The test is tough, and the struggle is long. In difficult times, patience and determination are true companions. As a dedicated worker of the Bahujan mission and movement, I will continue to serve the party with full commitment and fight for my community's rights until my last breath."

"Some opposition party members think that this decision has ended my political career. They should understand that the Bahujan movement is not a career but a fight for the dignity and self-respect of millions of Dalits, oppressed, deprived, and poor people. It is an ideology, a movement that cannot be suppressed. There are millions of Akash Anands ready to dedicate everything to keeping this torch alive."

What Led to This Decision?

On Sunday, BSP supremo Mayawati held a crucial meeting in Lucknow with party officials from across Uttar Pradesh and the country. She announced several important decisions, including removing Akash Anand from all positions. In his place, Anand Kumar and Ramji Gautam have been appointed as the party's National Coordinators, with their roles clearly defined.

Mayawati stated, "Following in the footsteps of Kanshi Ram, Ashok Siddharth—who is also Akash Anand’s father-in-law—has been expelled from the party for working against the movement by dividing the party into factions. As for Akash Anand, he is married to Ashok Siddharth’s daughter. Now that Siddharth has been expelled, it is crucial to consider the extent of his daughter’s influence on Akash and how that might impact him. So far, the situation has not seemed positive."

"In the interest of the party, Akash Anand has been relieved of all responsibilities. The party is not responsible for this; rather, his father-in-law Ashok Siddharth is solely to blame for damaging Akash Anand’s political career. Now, Anand Kumar will continue to handle all party affairs as he did before."

Role of Anand Kumar and Ramji Gautam in BSP

Mayawati clarified that Anand Kumar, who has been the party's National Vice President for several years, will continue in that role. He will manage all party paperwork, income tax matters, legal issues, and election campaigns across India. He will also oversee crucial tasks in Delhi and maintain direct contact with party members nationwide, regularly updating Mayawati.

Considering these responsibilities, he has now been appointed as both National Vice President and National Coordinator of the party.

Meanwhile, Ramji Gautam has been appointed as the second National Coordinator. Mayawati emphasized that Anand Kumar has also taken a significant step in ensuring the party’s stability by deciding to arrange his children's marriages in non-political families to avoid future issues like those caused by Ashok Siddharth.

No Successor for BSP While Mayawati Is Alive

Mayawati firmly stated, "I have now decided that as long as I am alive, there will be no successor in the party. The party members have wholeheartedly welcomed this decision." She reiterated her stance that for her, the party and movement always come first, while family and personal relations take a back seat.
