Wave of fear after broad daylight murder of girl by ex-lover in Uttar Pradesh

In a shocking incident of broad daylight murder, a girl was murdered by her ex-lover in Jalaun district of Uttar Pradesh. A wave of fear rippled through the people of the area, and it has exposed the claims made by the state government regarding the law and order situation in the state. This brazen murder came a day after the "live" murder of Atiq Ahmad and his brother Ashraf Ahmad. 

The girl, Roshini Ahirwar, a first-year B.A. student, was walking home after appearing for her exam at Ram Lakhan Patel Degree College in the area. The accused was later arrested after an "encounter" with the police, in which he was injured. 

Speaking to The Mooknayak, Dr. Iraj Raja IPS, Superintendent of Police, Jalaun, said that the accused, Raj Ahirwar, was in a relationship with the girl. But when the girl suddenly broke up with him after a year, Raj was disgruntled and felt jilted. He consequently shot the girl along with his cousin. Raja stated that the accused was arrested after an encounter.”

Speaking to The Mooknayak Amarnath Singh, SHO at Maurawan Police Station told that FIR has been registered under IPC Sections 436 (causing mischief by fire or explosive substance, 147 (rioting), and 323 (volunatriy causing hurt) and Raj Bahadur, one of the accused has been arrested.

Criminals Undaunted in Unnao 

In another shocking case of brazenness of the criminals, a minor Dalit rape victim and her mother were attacked by two persons charged with her rape. The accused were out on bail. They are also reported to have thrown the baby into a flame.

The case 

According to the information, five accused raped the 13-year-old victim after holding her hostage. Three of the accused were sent to jail after registering a case under POCSO (prevention of Child sexual offense), and two accused were given a clean chit.

According to reports, the accused were out on bail last month and reached the victim's home. The victim's mother said that they were pressuring for a compromise in the case. When the family members refused, the accused attacked them brutally and threatened them with death.

UP tops in crimes against women

According to the latest data of NCRB (National Crime Records Bureau), women in Uttar Pradesh faced the maximum crimes in the country in 2021, followed by Rajasthan. The state topped in murder cases against women, as 882 women were murdered against 7739 murders all over the country. While in the total rape cases, it accounted for 2,845 rapes against a total of 31,667 rape cases all over the country. The state ranked third after Rajasthan.
