Bhopal/Lucknow- The excitement surrounding the impending assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh has surged to new heights. A significant turnout of thousands marked the rallies led by Bahujan leaders this Monday, a vivid display of the burgeoning enthusiasm. Mayawati, the President of the Bahujan Samaj Party and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, took the stage at an electrifying election rally in Mungavali, located in the Ashoknagar district. Simultaneously, in Mehgaon, Bhind, the National President of the Azad Samaj Party, Chandrashekhar Azad, spearheaded another impactful election rally. The mammoth attendance at both gatherings suggests the formidable influence and support of the third front in this election.

Rally Events and Impact

Thousands thronged to the rally ground as Mayawati addressed the gatherings in Ashoknagar. Her impassioned speeches fiercely targeted both Congress and BJP, labeling them as anti-Dalit and accusatory of running exploitative governments. Notably, Mayawati criticized the Congress's failure to confer Bharat Ratna upon Bhimrao Ambedkar during their tenure, contrasting it with the subsequent recognition awarded during the VP Singh government. Her scathing comments underscored the prevalence of a narrow caste mentality among the ruling parties, cautioning marginalized communities against falling for deceptive tactics employed by such governments.

Mayawati's critique extended to the BJP government's privatization strategies, arguing that these measures were depriving SC/ST/OBC communities of their rightful reservation benefits. She cautioned against the government's efforts to undermine reservations in promotions for these communities through legal means, sparking concerns about the preservation of their rights and opportunities.

The Bahujan Samaj Party kicked off its election campaign in Madhya Pradesh on November 6. BSP has forged an alliance with the Gondwana Gantantra Party to contest in the 230-member Assembly. The seat allocation grants BSP 178 seats while the GGP will contest in 52 seats. With the impending November 17, 2023, elections, opinion polls project a tight contest between the ruling BJP and Congress, potentially reshaping the political dynamics in Madhya Pradesh.

Chandrashekhar Azad, the National President of the Azad Samaj Party, echoed similar sentiments during his rally in Mehgaon. He chastised the BJP and Congress for leveraging marginalized societies solely for electoral gains, particularly calling out the BJP for its continued atrocities against Dalits in the state. The fervent support demonstrated through the resounding chants of "Jaibhim" highlighted the substantial concern for other political entities observing the remarkable support for Bahujan leaders.

The impact of Bahujan leaders' rallies, specifically Mayawati and Chandrashekhar, has injected new energy into the political narrative of Madhya Pradesh. Their impassioned speeches, critiquing the establishment parties, and rallying for the rights of marginalized communities have stirred significant attention and support, potentially redefining the electoral landscape in the state.
