Sonipat- Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla inaugurated India's first Constitution Museum at the O.P. Jindal Global University in Sonipat on Saturday. The museum, a testament to India's democratic journey, aims to educate the public about the Constitution's history, significance, and enduring impact.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Naveen Jindal, Founding Chancellor of JGU and Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), along with other distinguished guests.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, the Chief Guest, highlighted the museum's role in connecting future generations with the Constitution. He emphasized the importance of remembering the efforts of those who crafted the document, stating, "Our Constitution stands as a beacon guiding India and the world. Our Constitution enshrines the principles of equality for all."

Guest of Honour, Arjun Ram Meghwal, praised the museum's dedication to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Indian Constitution. He stressed the importance of equality, liberty, and fraternity as the cornerstones of the Constitution.

The Constitution Museum, designed to be engaging and informative, utilizes cutting-edge technology and multimedia storytelling. Visitors can experience a 360-degree visual spectacle of pre-independence India and learn about the drafting of the Constitution. A highlight of the museum is a tour guide robot, S.A.M.V.I.D., developed in collaboration with IIT Madras.

The museum houses a replica of one of the 1000 photolithographic reproductions of the original Constitution, featuring the signatures of the nation's founders. It also pays special tribute to the contributions of the 15 women members of the Constituent Assembly, with animations detailing their work.

The museum anticipates the art to be a major attraction. Rahul Gautam's sculpture, ‘Founding Mothers,’ artistically depicts a fictional photograph featuring the 15 women members of the Constituent Assembly, honoring their contributions to shaping India's constitutional framework. The collection explores themes of unity, justice, equality, and liberty, reflecting the spirit of the Indian Constitution.

Naveen Jindal, Founding Chancellor of O.P. Jindal Global University, emphasized the significance of the Constitution in shaping India's democracy. He stated, "The Constitution Museum is a reminder of the vision of our Founding Fathers... It is a reminder to celebrate the constitution of the world's largest democracy."

The museum is part of the Jindal Global University initiative, The Constitution Academy & the Rights and Freedoms Museum. It aims to foster a deeper understanding of India's Constitution and its impact on the nation's citizens. The museum also features a hologram exhibit of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, bringing his words and vision to life.
