New Delhi- The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has announced it will continue its sit-in demonstration at Jantar Mantar and will not leave the site until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns. The party has formally sought an extension of the protest despite the Delhi Police denying permission to prolong the demonstration beyond its scheduled duration.

CJP Founder Abhijeet Dipke has invited students, parents, teachers, competitive examination aspirants, and concerned citizens from across the country to join the ongoing peaceful sit-in at 6 PM on Saturday to demand the Education Minister’s resignation.

The protest, which has grown into a broader movement reflecting public frustration over the state of education in India, centres on the party’s primary and unconditional demand for Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation. Protestors have surrounded CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke to prevent any possible unlawful detention by authorities, reaffirming their strong resolve to stay at the site.

Addressing the gathering, Abhijeet Dipke said, “We respect democratic institutions and remain committed to peaceful and non-violent protest. However, we will not leave Jantar Mantar until Dharmendra Pradhan resigns.”

The party emphasised that the movement now represents the collective voice of millions of young Indians seeking accountability in the education system. It has also requested the Delhi Police to facilitate a channel of communication with the Government of India for meaningful dialogue.

“We are open to dialogue. We are open to discussing with the government. However, our demand for the resignation of the Education Minister remains unconditional and non-negotiable,” Dipke added.

The Cockroach Janta Party maintained that the protest would continue peacefully and democratically, urging the government to engage with the concerns raised by students, parents, educators, and citizens. The party thanked all those who have supported and amplified the movement, noting that what began as a satirical response has evolved into a wider call for dignity, accountability, and democratic participation.
