Ayodhya Overwhelmed Devotees Flock to Ram Temple, Causing Major Logistical Strain

Massive influx of devotees strains city's infrastructure

Ayodhya- Ayodhya faced severe logistical challenges on Monday as an extraordinary number of devotees converged on the Ram Temple, overwhelming local infrastructure and security arrangements. The situation became critical in the early hours, with authorities forced to stop vehicles 25 kilometers from the city center, leaving countless pilgrims stranded.

The city's main religious corridors, including Janmabhoomi Path and the routes to Hanuman Garhi and the Ram Temple, have reached maximum capacity. The congestion has led to several security breaches, with some frustrated devotees forcing their way through police barricades.

Despite recent infrastructure improvements and road widening projects, Ayodhya's ancient street layout has struggled to accommodate the massive influx of visitors.

This surge follows the Mauni Amavasya celebrations at Prayagraj, with many devotees making their way directly to Ayodhya afterward. The city has been filled with continuous chants of "Jai Shri Ram" since dawn, as pilgrims pack every available space in the sacred city.

According to official estimates, approximately 6.5 million devotees have entered Ayodhya within just four days, putting unprecedented pressure on the city's resources. Senior officials have been conducting overnight inspections to manage the situation. This follows another significant surge around Republic Day when 2.5 million visitors came to see Ram Lalla within a 30-hour period.

The continued influx of pilgrims has created a challenging situation for both local authorities and visitors, with the city's narrow streets and limited infrastructure struggling to cope with the extraordinary number of devotees seeking darshan at the newly consecrated temple.
