Pratapgarh- In the courtroom of Pratapgarh in Rajasthan, as the judge presided over a routine case, an unexpected incident unfolded. A young man entered, placing a pistol in front of the judge. With raised hands, he declared his intention to surrender, leaving officers and security personnel in shock. The incident occurred on Monday in the SC-ST court of Pratapgarh district, where Judge Yogesh Yadav was conducting proceedings.

Promptly, the Pratapgarh police took the accused into custody for interrogation. Following a stern reprimand from the judge in the courtroom, the accused, identified as Salman, stood up with folded hands, asserting that he had no intention of causing harm. A video from inside the courtroom capturing this exchange has gone viral.

Excerpts from the conversation:

Judge: Tell me what the incident is.

Salman: The incident involves a threat to my business. The opposing party had threatened to kill me. If there is interference in my business, then... Judge sahab, i have a local fish shop here.

Judge: But why did you bring a pistol to the court?

Salman: Sir, I have come to surrender because I made a big mistake. If I didn't use it, it would have killed me.

Judge: You placed the pistol in front of the judge; you could have shot the judge.

Salman: Sir, I am confessing my crime. I have no such motive.

Judge: My life is in danger.

The police detained Salman for carrying a pistol in the court, and he is currently undergoing interrogation at the Kotwali police station.

Salman was previously absconding in an aerial firing case. Pratapgarh SP Amit Kumar told the media that Salman, a 28-year-old resident of Malwa Colony in Pratapgarh, had a dispute with another fish seller, Akil Mohammad Qureshi, over customers. On Sunday at 10 pm, Salman fired in the air to scare Akil, who subsequently filed a complaint with the police. Fleeing the scene, Salman reached the court on Monday with the intention to surrender, expressing his fear of a potential police encounter.

During his custody transfer to the police station, Salman informed the media that his surrender was driven by the fear of a potential police encounter. He emphasized that he had no intention of harming anyone.
