Jaipur- In a bold statement, IPS officer Kishan Sahay, posted at Police Headquarters, declared that no divine power like God, Allah, or any other deity has ever existed. He argued that the figures mentioned in religious texts are purely imaginative and offer no real strength, calling such beliefs mere illusions.

Kishan Sahay, the IPS officer stationed at the Human Rights division of the Jaipur Police Headquarters, in a Facebook post, commented on the concept of deities across all religions, stating that no power like God, Allah, or any other deity has ever existed, nor does it exist now. He said that if we derive strength from such beliefs, it is nothing but an illusion. The descriptions of deities in religious texts are merely imaginative concepts.

Sahay elaborated, saying that 98% of India's population holds a religious worldview. Various religions like Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, Jainism, and Zoroastrianism, along with a small number of Jews, coexist here. Almost all the major religions of the world are present in India. Despite this, the country significantly lags behind in science and technology and remains relatively weak. Our youth are grappling with unemployment because job opportunities are moving abroad.

He remarked that countries with a religious perspective are falling behind due to their lack of progress in science and technology. For instance, consider the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. Islamic countries are siding with Hamas, claiming that Allah is on their side. However, Israel, backed by the U.S., is using science and technology to secure victories. Allah is not able to help them.

Sahay also reflected on India’s history, saying that during periods of colonial rule—first by the Arabs, Turks, and Mughals, and later by the British—no deity from India could save the country from subjugation. Similarly, Allah, who was believed to be with them, couldn't prevent the country from being enslaved. History teaches us that no divine power ever came to our aid.

Countries Excelling in Technology and Weaponry Are Progressing

He emphasized that no deity has ever saved a country from being colonized. Only those countries with advanced technology and weaponry have managed to progress. This suggests that there has never been a power like God or Allah. If these beliefs give us strength, it’s nothing but an illusion.

Sahay further argued that the figures described in religious texts are the products of imagination. At the time those texts were written, scientific discovery had not yet taken place. But today, people are becoming more aware. If we want the country to progress, we need to adopt a scientific mindset. The countries that are focusing on science and technology are advancing. In China, for example, 90% of the population does not believe in God, yet the country is making tremendous progress. In contrast, 98% of India's population is religious, but they are falling behind, with their children unemployed and lagging in science.

India has endured periods of colonialism, but no deity, whether God, Allah, or any other, helped. To steer the country in the right direction, we need to promote scientific thinking. Countries that are fostering scientific thought are advancing.

Kishan Sahay is a promoted IPS officer who attained his position in 2013. In August 2013, he was appointed SP, Tonk, but on January 11, 2014, he was transferred to serve as SP of GRP Ajmer. He remained in this position for an entire year before being placed on APO status by the government.

After about six months of being an APO, the government appointed Sahay as SP in CID CB, where he remained for four and a half years. Following this, he served in the prison department before returning to CID CB. In 2020, Sahay was appointed DIG of the Arm Battalion at the Police Headquarters, where he was promoted to IG. In 2023, he was assigned to the Human Rights division.
