Lucknow- BSP Supremo Mayawati, while reaffirming her decision to contest the upcoming polls without any alliance, reviewed her party's preparations in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. She urged party workers to engage at the grassroots level and commence preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections scheduled for 2024. Mayawati emphasized the importance of involving people from Sarvsamaj.

Anticipating a multifaceted contest in the Lok Sabha polls due to what she described as anti-people policies by the central and state governments, Mayawati called for dedicated efforts at the ground level.

The BSP chief was addressing a meeting on Thursday at Lucknow. The meeting took place ahead of the results in the assembly elections in the states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana.

She also announced the party's plan to commemorate the death anniversary of Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar on December 6. Mayawati specified that the six zones of western Uttar Pradesh would pay their respects at Rashtriya Dalit Prerna Sthal in Noida, while the remaining twelve zones would celebrate at Dr. Ambedkar Smarak on the banks of the River Gomati in Lucknow.

Criticizing the BJP, Mayawati asserted that the people of Uttar Pradesh were not experiencing "Achche din" as they grappled with challenges such as unemployment, hunger, and a lack of basic amenities like roads, water, education, and health under BJP rule. She pointed out that only a few selected districts were being prioritized out of the 75 in the state. Mayawati accused the ruling party, like the Congress, of resorting to divisive politics due to their inability to garner votes based on their work. She urged the people of the Bahujan Samaj not to succumb to divisive and sectarian politics.

The four-time Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh also demanded swift action from the government in the 69000 recruitment scam. In a post on X she said “ The irregularities in the implementation of the reservation of SC and OBC in the teachers recruitment has forced the thousands of the applicant to agitate and struggle, the government should ensure immediate justice for them, this is the demand of BSP. She mentioned that the Backward commission, Revenue Council and the hon’ble court has also directed the government to have a rethink over the recruitment list.

Thousands of candidates belonging to the SC and OBC communities have been protesting against the discrepancies in the recruitment of 69000 teachers for more than 530 days. The protesting candidates had assembled at the state office of BSP on Thursday demanding intervention from the BSP Supremo in the case.
