A shocking incident of mutilating an individual's nose has come to light in Ajmer, following the circulation of a video capturing the gruesome act that was filmed by the perpetrators themselves.
As per the First Information Report (FIR) lodged at the Gegal Police Station, the victim, Hamid Khan, reported that he and his wife were forcefully abducted from their apartment in Ansal City by Prakash Khan and several others, including Aziz Khan, Momin, Saleem, Iqbal, Hussain, and his mother-in-law. While Hamid's wife was taken to Ratau in a separate vehicle, he was taken to Maroth, where he was viciously beaten with sticks and subsequently subjected to having his nose severed with a sickle. The perpetrators recorded the heinous act and left Hamid at Nawa Road, from where he managed to board a bus and travel to Parbatsar Hospital for medical attention.
The police have taken swift action and registered a case against the accused individuals under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 143, 323, 341, 342, 324, 452, and 365. In a statement given to The Mooknayak, Sunil Kumar Beda, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Gegal Police Station, confirmed that all eight individuals involved in the crime, including the girl's father and four of her brothers, have been apprehended and taken into custody.
Further investigation into the case has revealed that the motive behind the gruesome act was to avenge the family's alleged humiliation after Razia, who is already married, eloped with Hamid and began living with him on rent in a room in Ajmer. Once Razia's family members learned of their whereabouts, they hatched a plan to abduct the couple, following which Razia was sent back to her husband, and Hamid was taken to a secluded location, where his nose was mutilated, the SHO said.
Unfortunately, this recent incident of nose mutilation is not an isolated case of brutality in India. Just last year, a similar incident occurred in Bhagwantpura Village, located in the Orai district of Uttar Pradesh. In this case, a Dalit individual had his nose cut off after he approached a landlord to ask for payment of his wages, which amounted to Rs. 2000. Shockingly, the police did not register a First Information Report (FIR) in this case, and the victim continues to complain of being intimidated by the accused.
