Hyderabad- A half-day seminar on Caste Census, Reservations and Social Justice will be held on 19 April 2025 at Arts College, Osmania University, featuring noted academician, social activist and columnist Prof. Yogendra Yadav as the keynote speaker. The seminar will bring together eminent scholars, activists, and students to deliberate on the urgent need for a nationwide caste census and the reimagining of social justice policies in contemporary India.

Prof. N. Sukumar, Professor at Delhi University and a leading voice in anti-caste discourse, will share his insights on the philosophical foundations of social justice and the lived realities of marginalized communities. Anil Eravathri, Chairperson of the Telangana Mineral Development Corporation, and T. Chirenjeevulu, Chairperson of the BC Intellectual Forum, will also address the gathering. Osmania University faculty members Dr. Konda Nageshwara Rao, Dr. Ram Shepard, Dr. G. Upender, Dr. Challamala Venkateshwah, Dr. Paramadamulu will address the seminar.

The seminar will witness participation from G. Kiran Kumar, National President of the All India OBC Students Association (AIOBCSA), Secretary Mahesh Goud, faculty members of Osmania University, research scholars, and students deeply engaged in social justice struggles.

The seminar aims to raise awareness on the critical importance of the caste census as a policy tool to ensure equitable representation and re-evaluation of reservation frameworks in India. It also seeks to initiate informed public discourse around the constitutional vision of equality and justice for all social groups.
