Bengaluru- Addressing the media ahead of Sunday’s protest in Bengaluru, CJP spokesperson Saurav Das stressed that the ultimatum issued by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is nearing its end, and that the movement is preparing to enter its next phase.
Das said that if no action is taken, CJP will launch a Mega Protest in Delhi on 20 June, bringing together students, parents, educators and citizens from across the country in a peaceful and democratic demonstration demanding accountability and education reform.
The ultimatum for Dharmendra Pradhans resignation is coming to an end. Students and young people across the country have waited for accountability. If the government continues to ignore their concerns, we will take this movement to Delhi on 20 June through a peaceful, democratic and nationwide mobilisation,” Das said.
Highlighting the growth of the movement, Das noted that thousands of students, parents and supporters had participated in protests and public programmes across the country following the demonstration at Jantar Mantar. He said the campaign has continued to gather momentum in multiple cities and would expand further in the coming days.
Das also expressed concern over what he described as attempts to malign and discredit the movement through misinformation and coordinated propaganda. He urged supporters to remain vigilant and stay focused on the movement’s core demands.
“We are receiving inputs about efforts to smear this movement and those associated with it. We urge people not to be distracted by propaganda. This movement belongs to students, parents and ordinary citizens who want a better future for India’s education system,” he said.
Providing details of Sunday’s Bengaluru programme, Das announced that the day would begin with a floral tribute to Karnataka’s youth icon Puneeth Rajkumar at 11:00 AM. A peaceful public gathering will then be held at Freedom Park at 4:00 PM, where CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, noted environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk, students, parents and members of civil society will address the gathering.
Das appealed to citizens from Bengaluru, Karnataka and neighbouring states to join the protest peacefully and exercise their democratic right to dissent, reiterating that the movement remains committed to non-violence and constitutional methods.
