Bhopal- A video from Mandsaur district in Madhya Pradesh is rapidly gaining traction. It shows an elderly man rolling on the ground. The farmer reportedly arrived at the Collector's public hearing. He has been involved in a land dispute for 14 years, alleging that a clerk at the Collector's office transferred his land to his son’s name. The elderly man rolled on the floor of the Collectorate, pleading for justice from the Collector.

The 65-year-old elder, Shankarlal Patidar, is a resident of Sakatli village in the Sitamau tehsil of Mandsaur.

On Tuesday, Shankarlal started rolling from the main gate of the Collector's office to the public hearing room. Later, security personnel lifted him and took him to the hearing room.

Farmer Shankarlal Patidar had been troubled for a long time due to land issues and had been running around various departments. After not finding a solution to his problem, he took this drastic step and rolled to the Collector’s office.

The police personnel and some officers present there stopped him and listened to his grievances seriously. While rolling, he expressed his anguish.

In the public hearing, Shankarlal Patidar said, "I have been fighting for my land since 2010, but no one is listening. I have applied over 25 times in public hearings. I have sent my problem to everyone from the President to the Prime Minister and Chief Minister, but no one is listening."

Meanwhile, after the video went viral, Collector Dilip Kumar Yadav issued a video statement saying that during the public hearing, the applicant Shankar Lal, son of Phoolchand, had submitted an application. He has possession of half of his land, and no action is pending regarding this matter.

Shankarlal alleged that his agricultural land in Survey Number 604, area 1.25 hectares, and Survey Number 625, area 0.51 hectares, totalling 1.76 hectares (about 9 bighas), was fraudulently transferred to the name of the clerk Deshmukh's son, Ashwini Deshmukh.

The farmer has been fighting this case since 2010. The elderly man also claimed that those who grabbed the land are threatening him, and his life is in danger.
