Bhopal- In a disturbing turn of events, a case reminiscent of the Seedhi urination scandal, has emerged in Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh. However, this time, the allegation is on the police as the victim levels grave accusations, alleging that some officers not only assaulted him but also engaged in indecent acts. The victim and his wife were reportedly subjected to misbehaviour.
The police have promptly registered the case and initiated an investigation. Police said the investigation is in progress and proper action would be taken accordingly. Intriguingly, the accused policemen have been allegedly applying pressure on the victim to withdraw a complaint lodged by him previously , on the CM Helpline.
The incident occurred in the Jaisinghnagar police station area of Shahdol district, where Hiralal Chaudhary, a Dalit man from Chhuda Bahra, has made serious allegations against the police officers involved. As a result of the assault, the victim, Hiralal, is currently undergoing treatment at the district hospital.
The victim Hiralal said that ASI Mahendra Bagri and Mahendra Pandey, posted at Jaisingh Nagar police station, and two other police personnel reached his house last night. They forcibly picked him up from home and took him to Tetka Murka forest, pressurizing him to close the complaint on the CM helpline. When the victim refused, Mahendra Bagri and Mahendra Pandey assaulted him. They urinated on him while engaging in obscene acts.
After the torture, the police left Hiralal there. Subsequently, the victim complained about the matter to the regional MLA and to the concerned police station. When the matter reached the top police officers at the divisional headquarters, they ordered an investigation. Meanwhile, Shahdol Additional SP Anjulata Patle said that a complaint has been received. Hiralal himself came to the office and lodged a complaint. Appropriate action will be taken after investigating the matter. Earlier, a case had been registered against Hiralal, wherein he was found guilty, the matter is pending before the court.
In this case, The Mooknayak contacted the Superintendent of Police Shahdol on his CUG number and through WhatsApp, but no reply was received from their side.
