New Delhi- The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) has been working towards empowering women, ensuring child welfare, and enhancing opportunities for all, as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Viksit Bharat.
The 100-day period since the launch of SHe-Box on August 29, 2024, has seen significant progress in addressing the problem of sexual harassment at the workplace. The platform has enabled women to file and track grievances, marking a significant step towards creating safer work environments across the country.
The Ministry is also working towards establishing Anganwadi-cum-Crèches Centres across India by 2029, with an aim to provide holistic childcare and educational services to millions of families. These centres will play a crucial role in strengthening the foundation of child development and women's workforce participation.
The Ministry is also focused on upgrading 10,000 Saksham Anganwadis, implementing a two-factor authentication system to track the delivery of Take-Home Ration, and improving nutrition outcomes nationwide. The initiatives include the launch of the 7 Rashtriya Poshan Maah on September 1, 2024, to raise awareness about anemia among women and adolescent girls, as well as the promotion of supplementary nutrition, growth, development, and early childhood care and education.
These achievements demonstrate the Ministry's unwavering commitment to building a future where women play a leading role in shaping India's growth story. The government is dedicated to ensuring that every woman and child in the country has the opportunity to thrive.
