Jaipur – A National Chintan Shivir, focusing on critical issues related to women and child development, will be held in Udaipur, Rajasthan, in January. The event will see the participation of Women and Child Development Ministers from all states, along with Union Minister Annapurna Devi.

The Chintan Shivir aims to discuss issues related to Anganwadi centers, nutrition, and women and child development and prepare a roadmap based on the requirements of various states. Discussions will encompass a wide range of topics, including Anganwadi centers, nutrition programs, and the overall well-being of women and children.

In preparation for the Shivir, Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari met with Union Minister Devi in Delhi on Tuesday to discuss various departmental matters. Deputy CM Kumari presented a series of requests, including the construction of 900 new Anganwadi buildings in Rajasthan. These proposals have been sent to the Centre and action is expected.

Furthermore, she urged the Centre to release funds for various schemes in a lump sum to ensure timely payment of honorariums to Anganwadi workers. She also called for an increase in supplementary nutrition rates, which haven't been revised since 2017.
