She was sold multiple times in a human trafficking racket spanning three states. Mother filed complaint on Feb 13

The police had been investigating the case since February 13 when the girl's mother lodged a complaint of kidnapping at Patna's Patliputra police station.

It was known that the mother-daughter duo were residents of Katihar, and they lived in a rented room in Nehru Nagar. The mother worked as domestic help for a living and was the sole breadwinner.  The teenager got her profile made on FB through a relative which infuriated her mother . The girl left home after an argument with her.

Tracked through CCTV footage

The police tracked the girl's mobile phone and extracted CDR and location details. They also searched CCTV footage of Patna Junction and identified a youth she was talking to as Prince, who ran a sex racket and had been jailed few times.

Prince went absconding when he came to know that police was searching him in connection with the missing minor. For months the police was clueless, however they kept tracking him.

The cops met success when Prince recently operated his social media account and the cops tracked him through the IP address. The Patliputra police which had been tracking him for months, came to know that he was in Gujarat. The cops arrested him 10 days ago.

Upon his arrest Prince revealed to the cops that he tricked the girl into getting a job through his wife Nikita. The couple sold the girl  to one local pimp called Pappu. The police arrested Pappu who confessed to taking the girl to Delhi and selling her to one Usha there.
