Lucknow- UPSSSC candidates have been waiting for appointments even after more than four years of the vacancy announcement. The notification for the post was released in 2019, but nearly five years later, the final result has not been declared.

The examination for the coveted Assistant Statistical Investigator/Research Officer post was conducted on May 22, 2022, followed by meticulous document verification of shortlisted candidates on May 19, 2023. Despite these pivotal milestones, the department has yet to release the final result for this long-awaited vacancy, leaving aspiring candidates in a prolonged state of uncertainty and frustration.

Candidates had to demonstrate at the headquarters of the Commission in Lucknow to get the exam held and now, they have resorted to demonstrations to get the final result declared.

In contrast, UPPSC, another commission recruiting for Group C and D vacancies, announced the final result of the 2023 PCS in January 2024, just eight months after conducting the PCS pre-examination for the year and less than a year after releasing the notification for the same vacancies. However, UPSSSC, specifically for the Assistant Statistical Investigator/Research Officer vacancy, has not been able to declare final results for several vacancies, the notification for which was released five to six years ago.

The examination for the Assistant Statistical Investigator/Research Officer post was held on May 22, 2022, and the document verification of shortlisted candidates took place on May 19, 2023. Despite these steps, the department has not released the final result for this vacancy. When candidates approached the concerned departments, they were told that reminders have been sent to UPSSSC, but the commission is not releasing the final result.

Aggrieved candidates are trying every possible way to get their grievances heard. Some held a demonstration outside the Charbagh Railway station in a semi-naked state to draw attention to the administration. The Mooknayak spoke to the aggrieved candidates who are camping at the protest site of Kanshiram Eco Garden.

Anoop Kumar Pandey, a candidate, mentioned that the notification for the post was released in 2019, and despite the exam taking place in 2022, the final result has not been declared. They have been protesting for the last 87 days, and no official has approached to hear about their grievances.

Vinay Kumar Pandey, another candidate from Sultanpur, expressed frustration, stating that media reports claimed that the A.S.O/A.R.O had been issued the joining letter, which is false. Candidates have struggled to receive their joining letters, even resorting to demonstrating in a semi-naked state outside the Charbagh Railway Station in the cold. He requested the declaration of the exam result and questioned the existence of the much-touted Ram Rajya.

Mukesh Kumar Verma from Maharajganj mentioned that they have been demonstrating for the last 87 days, celebrating Diwali and Republic Day at the protest site. He urged Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to issue the joining letter, so candidates can feel that the Ram Rajya has arrived in the real sense.
