Women's Role in India's Growth Highlighted on Independence Day

Union Minister of Panchayati Raj stresses the importance of recognizing women's potential.

New Delhi- To mark the 78th Independence Day of the country, the Union Minister of Panchayati, Raj and Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, delivered a speech in which he highlighted the crucial role of women in India's development journey. The event was organized by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi.

In his keynote address, Union Minister of Panchayati Raj Rajiv Ranjan Singh emphasized the significance of women recognizing their inherent strength and potential. He said, "The existence of Panchayats is constitutionally recognized; they are constitutional units. Therefore, their identity should be firmly rooted in their work."

He urged continuous improvement in their skills to win the affection and trust of the people they serve.

At the end of his speech, the Union Minister paid tribute to the women leaders of Panchayats, saying that their work is an inspiration to others. He said, "Set big goals in your personal, social and professional life."

The Felicitation Function was a significant step in the recognition of the contributions of women leaders from different Panchayats. The event aimed to empower and recognize the contributions of elected women representatives and elected representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions.
