FM Sitharaman Highlights Low Inflation and Growth Prospects

New Delhi- Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman highlighted India's strong economic growth and low inflation in her opening remarks at the Union Budget 2024-25 presentation.

Sitharaman said, "India's economic growth remains the shining exception and will continue to be so." She also emphasised that inflation in India continues to be low.

"We are determined that all Indians regardless of religion and age achieve life goals and aspirations," Sitharman said.

Sitharaman presented the first Union Budget of the Modi 3.0 government and her seventh consecutive budget during the monsoon session of Parliament.

The Economic Survey 2024, which was presented in the parliament on Monday, projected that the Indian economy has the potential to sustain a growth rate of 7 percent in the medium term.

According to the survey, the country's growth will be driven by strong public health, education, and infrastructure sectors.

Prime Minister Modi commended the Survey for highlighting the economy's current strengths and identifying areas for further growth and progress as the government works towards building a developed India.
