Over 34 Crore Ayushman Cards Created Under AB-PMJAY

Scheme to provide health insurance coverage of 5 lakh rupees to beneficiaries

New Delhi- According to a statement from the government, more than 34 crore Ayushman cards have been created under the Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) by the end of June 30, 2024.

In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, the Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Prataprao Jadhav said that the scheme is being executed in 33 states and union territories in the country except Delhi, West Bengal, and Odisha. According to Jadhav, under the scheme, 7.37 crore hospital admissions worth more than 1 lakh crore rupees have been approved.

The Minister said that the goal of the scheme is to provide health insurance coverage of 5 lakh rupees to the beneficiaries for secondary and tertiary care hospital treatment. Eligible patients can get cashless healthcare services related to hospitalization in more than 29 thousand empanelled hospitals in the country.
