New Delhi- India's annual wholesale price inflation rate was 1.84% (Provisional) for the month of September, 2024 (over September, 2023). This uptick in inflation is mainly attributed to rising prices in food articles, food products, other manufacturing, manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, and manufacture of machinery and equipment.

The all-India Wholesale Price Index (WPI) reached 154.6 in September 2024, marking a 0.06% increase from the previous month.

Food inflation, a key component of WPI, surged to 9.47% in September 2024, from 3.26% in August 2024. This significant rise was primarily driven by an increase in the prices of food items.

Manufactured products had a 1.00% inflation rate in September 2024, with an index of 141.8, compared to 1.22% in August 2024.

Fuel & Power inflation declined by 4.05% to 146.9 in September 2024, from 148.1 in August 2024.
