New Delhi- The budget for education in India has increased significantly in recent years. The allocation for education in 2013-14 was 4 lakh 30 thousand crore rupees, which has now increased to 9 lakh 19 thousand crore rupees. This increase is of 78 percent.

The Ministry of Education said this growth in the budget is due to the expansion of higher education facilities and the launch of new initiatives such as the PM JANMAN scheme for tribal education. The PM JANMAN scheme aims to provide quality education to the most disadvantaged sections of society, including tribal communities. The government is also committed to promoting Indian Sign Language. To support the efforts of the tribal education system, the government also plans to build 500 hostels, out of which the construction work of 100 19 hostels has already started.

According to the Education Minister, the number of higher education institutions in the country has increased from 760 in 2014-15 to 1,196 in 2024. This increase is linked to the growth of higher education and the expansion of the campus infrastructure. The government is committed to providing quality, affordable, and equitable education to all students.

The allocation for education in the budget reflects the government's commitment to improving the quality of education in India. The increase in the budget will help in strengthening the education system and providing students with access to quality education.
