India Sees Record 9.24 Million Tourists in 2023

Ministry of Tourism reports surge in international visitors

New Delhi- According to the data released by the Ministry of Tourism, 9.24 million foreign tourists visited India in 2023. The country received tourists from various countries all over the world.

This information was given by Union Minister for Tourism and Culture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in a written reply in Rajya Sabha on Thursday.

The Ministry of Tourism has further said that 1.22 million tourists from the Asia Pacific region were received by India. These countries include Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Thailand, and Korea. The Asia Pacific region is the key source market for India's tourism industry.

In order to increase its market share in the global tourism market, the Ministry of Tourism is carrying out a marketing and promotional strategy. This strategy includes a collaboration with stakeholders and Indian missions in different countries.

The Ministry of Tourism also organized the 46th edition of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Travel Mart in New Delhi. This event brought together tourism professionals and business stakeholders from all over the world.

The Ministry of Tourism promotes India as a holistic destination in various markets to increase India's share of the global tourism market. These objectives are met through an integrated marketing and promotional strategy and a synergized campaign in association with the stakeholders and Indian Missions overseas.
