Jamshedpur- In a fervent declaration, Salkhan Murmu, former Member of Parliament and National President of the Adivasi Sengel campaign (ASA), reiterated the organization's commitment to the preservation of the Sarna Dharma Code. Murmu highlighted the code's significance as the lifeline of existence, identity, and participation for approximately 15 crore nature-worshipping tribals in India.

Accusing both the Congress and BJP of guilt in depriving tribals of their religious freedom, Murmu pointed out that the provision safeguarding their rights existed until the 1951 census but was later removed by the Congress. Currently, the BJP faces allegations of attempting to forcibly convert tribals into Hindus. The 2011 census revealed that 50 lakh tribals identified with the Sarna religion, surpassing the number of Jains at 44 lakh.

Describing the deprivation of fundamental rights for tribals as a constitutional crime, Murmu emphasized that the forced conversion of tribals into Hindus, Muslims, Christians, etc., without adherence to the Sarna Dharma code, amounted to religious slavery. He stressed the crucial need for recognizing the Sarna Dharma Code for the protection of humanity, nature, and the environment.

Recent visits by the Prime Minister to Ulihatu and the President to Baripada were deemed futile for the cause of Sarna, prompting the tribal Sengel campaign to announce a symbolic one-day Bharat Bandh and rail-road chakka jam on 30 December.

Sengel urges the 50 lakh tribals and all Sarna religious organizations that participated in the Bharat Bandh to unite for a demonstration near their respective villages. Additionally, Sengel is determined to protect Sarna religious places of worship, including Marang Buru, Lugu Buru, Ayodhya Buru, etc. Two upcoming events, the Marang Buru Bachao Sengel Yatra in Madhuban, Giridih, on 10th December and Haasa-Bhasha Vijay Diwas in Dumka on 22nd December, are part of Sengel's strategic plan.

Expressing more concern for saving tribal society than aligning with any political party, Sengel's slogan echoes - "Do not be a slave to the parties; talk about society." The primary focus is on saving race, language, caste, religion, employment, etc.
