Jammu- A Kashmiri Pandit organization, Youth 4 Panun Kashmir (Y4PK), filed a police complaint against Iltija Mufti, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and daughter of former Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, on Monday. The complaint alleges that Mufti made derogatory and inflammatory remarks against Lord Rama and Hindus.

The complaint was lodged with the Delhi Cyber Crime Cell under Sections 302, 325, and 323 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and Section 67 of the IT Act. It cites that Mufti’s statement is deeply offensive, aims to incite communal discord, and deliberately insults Lord Rama, the Hindu religion, and its followers.

Vithal Chowdhary, President of Y4PK, filed the complaint. He is seeking a thorough investigation, the blocking of the alleged offensive content under Section 69A of the IT Act, and stringent legal action against Mufti.

Another prominent Kashmiri Pandit organization, Roots in Kashmir (RIK), expressed support for Y4PK’s actions. Amit Raina, spokesperson of RIK, called Mufti a “habitual offender” and pledged his organization's full support to ensure Mufti is held accountable.

Y4PK, in its statement, emphasized its commitment to pursuing justice and upholding the sanctity of all religious beliefs in India, alongside its allies like RIK. The parent organization of Y4PK, Panun Kashmir, has historically advocated for a separate homeland for the minority Kashmiri Pandit community in the Kashmir Valley, from where they were forcefully displaced by terrorists in the 1990s.
