Lucknow- In a shocking revelation, a senior officer of the Uttar Pradesh Police, Additional SP Rahul Srivastava, is under scrutiny as serious allegations of sexual exploitation have been levelled against him by a young woman from Lucknow. The victim, whose identity is being protected, has taken to social media to share her harrowing experience, igniting a wave of concern about women's safety and the effectiveness of the legal system.

Background of the Case:

The complainant, a resident of Lucknow, disclosed that she had encountered PPS officer Rahul Srivastava in 2018 while preparing for the UPSC exams. According to her account, Srivastava, known for his prominent role in the ATS, allegedly offered her assistance in 2019 under the guise of providing research work and study materials. Instead, she claims, he sexually assaulted her, took explicit photographs, and subsequently blackmailed her.

The victim states that she formally reported the incident to several higher-ranking officials two months ago, but her plea for justice went unheard. Frustrated by the lack of action, she resorted to social media, posting her traumatic experience and directly tagging influential authorities, including the UP Chief Minister's Office, Lucknow Police, ADG UP, Uttar Pradesh CMO Office, Uttar Pradesh Government Office, Union Minister Smriti Irani, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP Uttar Pradesh, and the Prime Minister's Office of India.

Expressing her disappointment, the victim mentioned that despite reaching out to the DGP UP, ADG Law and Order Prashant Kumar, and ADG Admin Neera Rawat, she received no positive response. She alleges that DGP UP and ADG Law and Order have blocked her, refusing to meet and protect the accused officer, despite providing evidence of the incident.

In response to the escalating situation, the UP Police X handle acknowledged the victim's application, stating that it has been forwarded to WCSO, where a senior IPS officer, Raveena Tyagi, is leading an impartial investigation. The statement assured that appropriate action would be taken based on the findings of the investigation.

Rahul Srivastava, in his statement to The Mooknayak, countered the allegations. He claimed that he was providing counselling to the girl, who had approached his wife for assistance. Srivastava asserted that the accusations are baseless, maintaining his cooperation with the ongoing investigation. He expressed faith in the legal process, asserting that the truth would be revealed through a thorough investigation.
