AIMIM to Contest 14 Seats in Maharashtra Assembly Elections

Mumbai- With Maharashtra's Assembly elections scheduled for a single phase on November 20, political activity in the state is at a peak. The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has announced its intention to contest 14 seats, as declared on the last day of nominations, October 29.

AIMIM made this announcement via its official social media handle on Platform X. According to the post, the party has fielded Syed Imtiaz Jaleel from Aurangabad East, Nasir Siddiqui from Aurangabad Central, Farooq Shah Anwar from Dhule, Mufti Ismail Qasmi from Malegaon Central, Waris Pathan from Bhiwandi West, Fayyaz Ahmed Khan from Byculla, Saif Pathan from Mumbra-Kalwa, Rais Lashkaria from Versova, Farooq Shabdi from Solapur, Mahesh Kamble from Miraj (SC), Samrat Survade from Murtizapur (SC), Syed Moin from Nanded South, Babita Kanade from Kurla (SC), and Mohammad Yusuf from Karanja Manora.

The state election, which will be conducted in a single phase on November 20, will have results announced on November 23.

In related news, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) recently released a list of four constituencies it plans to share with its allies in Maharashtra. This includes a seat allocated to Union Minister and Republican Party of India (A) President Ramdas Athawale’s party.

In an official letter, BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh stated, "Based on the request of the BJP Maharashtra State Unit, and under the direction of National President Jagat Prakash Nadda, candidates from allied parties will contest in the Assembly elections."
