Lucknow- A woman wanted for allegedly pelting stones at police during the Sambhal violence in November was arrested on Monday. Zikra, identified by Uttar Pradesh police through viral videos, was apprehended in her home in the Hindupura Kheda area.

Zikra is accused of joining a mob that clashed with police during a court-mandated survey of the Shahi Jama Masjid on November 24. Three people were killed and over thirty police officers were injured in the violence, including SP K.K. Vishnoi and CO Anuj Chaudhary.

Police have arrested three other women in connection with the stone-pelting and have launched a crackdown on vandals, arresting over 52 people. Police apprehended Salim, accused of firing a shot at CO Anuj Chaudhary during the Sambhal violence, in Delhi's Seelampur area.
