New Delhi: Despite Delhi Police lodging two FIRs against WFI ( Wrestling Federation of India) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, for alleged sexual harassment and intimidation, top wrestlers such as Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik, and Bajrang Punia continue to protest at Jantar Mantar here.

The wrestlers have been staging protests here since April 23. Many prominent personalities have expressed their support for the protesting wrestlers.

The BJP Mp Singh has been accused of sexually harassing and intimidating seven wrestlers, including a minor, leading to demands for criminal charges against him.

Meanwhile, following a Supreme Court directive, Delhi Police has provided security to all 7 complainants, according to ANI.

Bhim Army Chief Chandrashekhar Azad reached the protest site Sunday morning.

Azad demanded "justice" for the wrestlers. "Lakhs of people will show up in support if someone is fighting for his rights. We want justice for them (the protesting wrestlers)," said Chandrashekhar Azad.

A day after Priyanka Gandhi visited the dharna site, her husband Robert Vadra , on Sunday, also reached jantar mantar in support of the wrestlers demonstration and said that the entire family is with them and will help them get justice.

Politicians including Bhupinder Singh Hooda , Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Jayant Chaudhary of the Rashtriya Lok Dal, Satya Pal Malik, the former governor of Jammu and Kashmir, and Delhi government ministers Atishi Singh and Suarbah Bhardwaj have all visited the protest site recently to show their support for the athletes.

CM Kejriwal met the protesting wrestlers on Saturday evening and said, "justice is the right of these Wrestlers, they are pride our nation."

After the support extended by senior politicians of AAP & Congress, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh asserted that the wrestlers protest is motivated by politicians since the very beginning, as reported by ABP News.

"Now that political parties are involved, the situation has expanded beyond athletes. I believed the protest was political in nature rather than representing the opinion of the athletes from the very beginning. Politicians have a big influence on them. It is obvious that Congress and other opposition parties are taking advantage of these athletes. Since the beginning, it has been clear that the protesting wrestlers' motivations are political, not related to my resignation," claims Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

In further developments in the matter According to reports cited by ANI, the oversight committee established to look into the claims made by wrestlers against the WFI President has not come to a resolution and its report has been given to Delhi police.
