Bhopal: A daughter from a humble family living in the narrow lanes of Bhim Nagar slum in Bhopal has achieved an extraordinary feat. Chandni Vishwakarma has secured the first position in the state in the Class 12 Commerce stream, bringing immense pride to her family and the entire city.

Scoring 494 out of 500 marks, Chandni’s success is not just a story of high marks, but a powerful tale of struggle, self-confidence, and relentless hard work.

Chandni’s life has been filled with challenges from the very beginning. She lives with her family in a small two-room house in Bhim Nagar, located right in front of the tall government buildings of the Secretariat. Her family’s financial condition has always been very weak. Her father, Rambhuvan Vishwakarma, works as a daily-wage labourer to support the family, while her mother, Bimla, works as a midday meal cook in a school and also prepares food for other households to add to the family income.

Due to limited income, basic facilities for studies were not available at home, no separate place to study, no study table, and no regular internet connection.

Despite all these hardships, Chandni kept her goal clear from the very first day. She says she had decided right from the beginning that she wanted to achieve something big, and she worked consistently towards that goal. During the exam, she did have some doubts about a few questions, but she performed with full confidence, and success eventually came to her.

Chandni kept her goal clear from the very first day.

Support from Parents and Teachers

During her preparation, Chandni received the biggest support from her parents and teachers. Whenever she felt mentally weak, her mother played a key role in keeping her positive. Her teachers also guided her at every step, which helped maintain her confidence throughout.

Her daily routine was itself a struggle. Every day, she used to travel for about 45 minutes by auto and bus to reach school. After school, she attended coaching classes and then returned home to study. The cycle continued daily. Notably, when no one was at home, she would use that time most effectively and study with complete concentration.

Chandni's mother Bimla says they never let their daughter feel the burden of financial difficulties.

Financial Hardship – The Biggest Challenge

The impact of financial constraints was clearly visible on her studies. Many times, she had to think twice even before buying books. In such situations, she borrowed books from others so that no extra burden would fall on her family. There was even a time when the circumstances became so difficult that she thought of leaving her studies and starting work, but she did not lose courage and stayed firm on her goal.

Family circumstances also posed a major challenge. It was not easy to create a conducive environment for studies in their small house. Additionally, at one point, her father injured his hand, which further worsened the family’s financial condition. During that period, continuing her studies became even more difficult, but with the support of her family and teachers, she did not give up.

The coaching centre operators also helped by providing concessions in fees, which boosted her morale.

Chandni's father Rambhuvan Vishwakarma had always wished for his daughter to do something big, and today she has fulfilled that dream.

Chandni’s dream is as big as her achievement. She wants to join the Indian Army and become a Lieutenant, serving the country. Her aspiration shows that her goal is not limited to personal success alone , she also wants to do something for the nation.

Chandni’s success also reflects the sacrifices made by her parents. Her mother, Bimla, says that despite their low income, they never let their daughter feel the burden of financial difficulties. She made every possible effort to ensure that nothing came in the way of Chandni’s studies. Getting emotional, she mentioned that when her husband injured his hand, the situation became even tougher, but they still managed to continue her education somehow.

Meanwhile, her father, Rambhuvan Vishwakarma, feels immense pride in his daughter’s achievement. He says that despite all the hardships, the milestone his daughter has achieved feels like a dream come true. He had always wished for his daughter to do something big, and today she has fulfilled that dream.

People in the neighbourhood also supported them throughout this journey and always maintained a positive environment.

Chandni’s success is not just a personal achievement. It is an inspiration for thousands of students who dare to dream big despite limited resources. This story proves that if one’s determination is strong, even hardships cannot stop the path to success.
