New Delhi- In a recent letter sent to the heads of various central government hospitals and institutes, the ministry has asked them to strengthen the security infrastructure of their institutions. The letter has been sent by the Union Health Ministry.

The Ministry has requested that all the hospitals and institutes should install a sufficient number of high-resolution CCTV cameras at different locations such as entrances, exits, corridors, dark spots, and sensitive areas. The ministry also suggested that they should create a control room for quick response to emergencies.

In addition, the ministry has asked that all hospital staff should be trained in recognizing and responding to security threats. They should be equipped with the necessary skills to handle such emergency situations. The ministry has also requested that all hospitals should ensure adequate lighting in their premises, especially in the duty areas of lady health care staff, parking lots, and entryways.

The Ministry has requested that the hospital authority should ensure coordination with local police and emergency services in case of any incidents. The letter also asked that the hospitals should have a comprehensive plan for dealing with various emergencies, which should be regularly updated and rehearsed. This plan should include the conduct of periodic mock drills for staff and security personnel to ensure effective responses in emergency situations.
