Rajasthan to Rename University VCs as 'Kulgurus'

Bill passed to change titles in line with traditional Indian values

Jaipur- The Rajasthan government plans to introduce legislation that will officially change the title of Vice Chancellors in state universities to 'Kulguru.' This decision was made during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on February 4, where several other significant policies were also approved.

The cabinet meeting approved multiple development-focused policies, including the Rajasthan Textile and Apparel Policy-2025, which aims to attract ₹40,000 crore in investment and establish the state as a global textile manufacturing hub. Additionally, the government approved the Rajasthan Data Center Policy-2025 to boost private investment in data centers, and the Rajasthan Logistics Policy-2025 to enhance industrial connectivity through various incentives.

In other key decisions, the cabinet approved the Rajasthan Youth Policy-2025, replacing its 2013 predecessor, to support youth development across various sectors. The government also approved significant land allotments for multiple solar projects in districts including Jaisalmer, Barmer, and Phalodi, advancing the state's renewable energy goals following MOUs worth ₹35 lakh crore signed during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit.
