Tamil Nadu Urged to Sign PM SHRI Scheme MoU

Union Minister of Education emphasizes alignment with NEP 2020

New Delhi- In a recent letter written to the MK Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan has urged him to sign the MoU for the PM SHRI Scheme.

The letter stated that the central government is committed to ensuring the benefit of every child in the country under the National Education Policy 2020. The Union Minister highlighted that several tens of lakhs of students from Tamil Nadu have had benefit from the Samagra Shiksha Scheme through the NEP 2020.

He further said that Tamil is one of the oldest classical languages in the world and in India as well and it is a matter of national pride. The Minister also addressed the issues regarding the MoU for the PM SHRI Scheme and requested the Tamil Nadu government to sign it as soon as possible.

The Union Minister also emphasized that the ongoing implementation of the Samagra Shiksha Scheme by the state of Tamil Nadu is in line with the NEP 2020, and it is crucial that the state also accepts the PM SHRI Scheme in order to improve the quality of education and set a benchmark for government schools in the region.
