Basti- In a shocking incident of alleged caste-based violence, a Dalit family returning from temple worship in Uttar Pradesh's Basti district was assaulted by members of a particular community. Upon receiving information about the attack, police have registered a case and initiated a search operation for the perpetrators.

According to available details, the Dalit family was traveling back in an auto-rickshaw from the temple when they encountered individuals from the particular community grazing goats on the road. A verbal altercation ensued over clearing the path.

What started as a minor dispute quickly escalated into a full-blown brawl. The attackers from the particular community allegedly launched a life-threatening assault on the Dalit family, leaving several members injured.

Upon learning of the incident, the victims approached the local police station with a complaint, prompting immediate action. The matter was escalated to senior officials, and the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital. After receiving primary treatment, some of the victims were discharged.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Shyamakant stated that the incident was taken seriously, with a police team dispatched to the scene. Orders were issued to register a case against the accused and ensure their swift arrest. "The culprits will not be spared under any circumstances," the police affirmed.

Currently, additional forces have been deployed in the village to maintain law and order. Tension prevails in the area following the attack, though the administration claims the situation is under control.

Police officials added that villagers are being counseled to prevent any further incidents. A dedicated team has been formed to apprehend the accused, with efforts underway to track their locations. Both parties are being interrogated to ascertain if the clash stems from any old enmity. Preliminary investigations point towards a possible history of grudge between the groups.
