Shivpuri- A 30-year-old Dalit man was beaten to death in Madhya Pradesh's Shivpuri district on Tuesday, with four people arrested in connection to the incident. The brutal attack, captured on video and shared on social media, has sparked outrage and raised concerns about law and order in the state.

The victim, identified as Vishnu Jatav, was allegedly thrashed by a group of four men in a field in Indergarh village, falling under the jurisdiction of the Subhashpura police station. The video shows the victim being mercilessly beaten with sticks and pipes while a crowd, including women, looks on. The assailants continued to attack Jatav even after he collapsed, eventually leaving him unconscious. An eyewitness recorded the brutal torture on mobile and posted it on social media.

Jatav was later taken to a nearby hospital by a group of youths but succumbed to his injuries late on Tuesday. Upon learning of the incident, police arrived and began an investigation. Police have registered a case of murder against eight individuals, including the village head, and arrested four suspects. The remaining accused are still at large.

Subhashpura police station in-charge Kripal Singh Rathor stated that the incident stemmed from a land dispute. "An FIR has been registered and further investigation is underway. The rest of the accused persons will be arrested soon," Rathor said.

The opposition Congress party has seized upon the incident, criticizing the state's law and order situation. Congress leader Arun Yadav stated, "Madhya Pradesh has become the graveyard of Dalits and Tribals. Law and order in Madhya Pradesh is on ventilator."
