New Delhi- The Commerce Minister, Piyush Goyal, has urged the industrial sector to focus on the production of high-quality goods and promote Brand India through sustainable practices in line with the Prime Minister's vision of Make in India with "Zero Effect; Zero Defect".

Goyal gave a speech to the CEOs of more than 140 PLI beneficiary companies and interacted with them. During the interaction, he praised the efforts of the PLI beneficiary companies in driving growth across various sectors, creating jobs, and positioning India as a global leader in manufacturing. He also thanked the global partners for their interest in investing in innovative products and contributing to the creation of jobs through the PLI schemes.

The Minister encouraged the CEOs to enhance domestic value addition in their products and make India self-reliant. He also urged the industry to support domestic manufacturers in this regard. This was stated by the Commerce Minister while addressing the gathering. He also sought feedback from the industry leaders on decriminalization/liberalization of laws to promote ease of doing business.

During the three-hour-long discussion, the CEOs of the beneficiary companies shared their perspectives on the PLI schemes and offered valuable insights into their experiences, success stories, and suggestions for improving the schemes' effectiveness and streamlining implementation. This provided a good opportunity for open communication between industry leaders and the government. The Minister also assured that the government will provide all possible support for the smooth implementation of the PLI scheme and also provide handholding support in achieving greater market access.

The Commerce Minister also emphasized the importance of policy support and creating an enabling environment for future growth by contacting the industry leaders and representatives of Invest India, National Investment Promotion, and Facilitation Agency (DPIIT). He also requested the industry stakeholders to visit Invest India, National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency, to facilitate technology transfer and foreign collaborations.
