The session will also discuss the use of technology and customised strategies to enhance survey participation among high-income households.
The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has been facing increasing challenges related to non-cooperation and refusal to part with information in surveys, particularly from high-income groups, gated communities, and high-rise housing societies. NSSO is determined to address these challenges and ensure the collection of representative data that accurately reflects societal trends and needs.
The session will start with a speech by Dr Saurabh Garg, Secretary, MoSPI. This will be followed by presentations on recent trends in non-response, their effects on data quality, and discussions on leveraging technology and customized strategies to enhance survey participation among high-income groups. The event will also highlight international best practices and examine the role of Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) in facilitating data collection. The focus will be on exploring innovative solutions to improve participation and ensure more representative data collection.
