Empowering Accessibility: Ministry of Social Justice Conference Focuses on Assistive Tech

New Delhi- At a recent conference, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment emphasised the need for greater employment opportunities for persons with disabilities.

The Secretary of the Ministry, Rajesh Aggarwal, highlighted that employers should take into account the skills and abilities of the differently-abled and not view them as a charity. This was stated in light of the 6th Conference on Empowering Persons with Disabilities through Accessible and Assistive Technology.

It was also emphasised that besides quality content, empathy, compassion, and professionalism are essential in the education sector for the challenged.

Aggarwal also spoke about the role of technology in bridging gaps and providing opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship. He highlighted that the government is committed to addressing the accessibility issues faced by persons with disabilities through various steps and initiatives.
