New Delhi- Delhi's air quality remained "very poor" on Tuesday, a day before Diwali, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) exceeding 300 in several areas of the capital, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

Anand Vihar recorded the highest AQI at 351, followed by Bawana (319) and Ashok Vihar (351). Wazirpur (327) also recorded a "very poor" AQI. Areas like Aya Nagar (290) and ITO (284) fell under the "poor" category.

Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva pointed towards the Aam Aadmi Party-led government in Punjab for the deteriorating air quality, blaming them for failing to address stubble burning. He cited data revealing 108 incidents of stubble burning in Punjab on October 26, significantly higher than the 16 reported in Haryana and 11 in Uttar Pradesh.

Sachdeva accused the AAP leadership of defending Punjab's inaction and requested a meeting with the Punjab Chief Minister, who was present in Delhi on Tuesday. Sachdeva emphasized the health impact of the pollution, stating, "Many are suffering from health issues related to this pollution."
