New Delhi- A petition in Bangladesh aimed at suspending the political activities of 11 parties, including the ruling Awami League and Jatiya Party, was withdrawn at the High Court on Tuesday. Filed by coordinators of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, the writ also sought to challenge the validity of the 10th, 11th, and 12th national elections. However, the petitioners' lawyer announced that his clients no longer wished to proceed, leading the court to dismiss the writs.

The court’s dismissal allows the parties, which include the Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, Communist Party of Bangladesh, and others, to continue their political activities without interruption. Specific grounds for the petition were not disclosed in court documents, according to the United News of Bangladesh (UNB).
