Amit Shah Distributes Citizenship Certificates, Emphasizes Justice for Refugees Under CAA

Ahmedabad- Union Home Minister Amit Shah distributed citizenship certificates to 188 refugees in Ahmedabad under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). During the event, Shah emphasized that the CAA is designed to grant justice and rights to millions of refugees who have been deprived of citizenship due to previous governments' appeasement policies.

He criticized the opposition for reneging on promises made during partition and for prioritizing vote banks over providing citizenship to refugees. Shah highlighted the plight of minorities in neighboring countries, particularly the decrease in the Hindu population in Bangladesh, and assured that the Modi government is committed to granting citizenship and justice to refugees.

Shah also addressed misinformation about the CAA, clarifying that it does not take away anyone's citizenship but rather grants it to those who have suffered due to religious persecution. He urged refugees to apply for citizenship without fear, noting that the law includes provisions for amnesty and protection. Additionally, Shah discussed the broader political context, highlighting Prime Minister Modi's efforts to combat nepotism, casteism, appeasement, and corruption, and referenced significant achievements like the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya and the abolition of Article 370.

Shah concluded by warning refugees about potential misinformation from opposition parties and reiterated the government's commitment to justice and dignity for all refugees.
