BAP MP Rajkumar Roat Alleges Udaipur MP Incited Followers to Burn Adivasi Homes, Demands Investigation of Viral Audio

Udaipur- Bharat Adivasi Party MP (Banswara-Dungarpur) Rajkumar Roat staged a symbolic protest with his supporters outside the Udaipur Collectorate on Tuesday. He served a memorandum to IG Ajaypal Lamba, expressing outrage over a viral audio clip circulating on social media for the past few days.

In the clip, a BJP leader is allegedly heard instructing followers to assault BAP workers and burn their homes.

MP Roat has demanded that the police register a case and conduct an investigation into the audio. Roat warned that if no action is taken within ten days, tribal communities in Udaipur and Banswara divisions will take to the streets in protest.

Speaking to the media, Roat sharply criticized the BJP government, particularly targeting tribal leaders such as Minister for Tribal Development Babulal Kharadi. He accused them of ignoring community-related issues and indulging in politics based solely on religion.

"If the Voice Belongs to the MP, He is More Dangerous than a Terrorist"

Roat revealed that the audio clip, which has been widely shared on social media, allegedly features a prominent BJP leader urging his followers to "beat the Adivasis associated with BAP with sticks and burn their homes." Roat stated that after the audio surfaced, he had tagged the Chief Minister and senior police officials on social media, asking, "Who is this terrorist inciting the burning of tribal homes?" However, even after 15 days, no response was received. He added that the failure to take timely action resulted in a recent deadly attack on their MLA and workers in Lasadiya of Dhariyawad Assembly constituency. Roat further asserted that such incidents could have been avoided if swift action had been taken.

Roat went on to claim that many people believe the voice in the viral audio clip belongs to Udaipur MP Mannalal Rawat. "If this voice indeed belongs to Rawat, then a person with such a vile mindset, holding the office of an MP, is more dangerous than a terrorist," Roat remarked.

The BAP MP explained that the memorandum submitted to the IG demanded the registration of a case and an investigation into the matter. "It's truly unfortunate if a person, who was elected with the support of the community, is now calling for the destruction and burning of tribal homes," he said. Roat gave the administration a 10-day deadline, warning that if no action is taken within this period, the tribal communities of Udaipur and Banswara divisions would take to the streets in protest.

In response to this issue, The Mooknayak reached out to Udaipur MP Mannalal Rawat for his perspective, but as of now, no response has been received. The news will be updated once the MP's statement is available.

'BJP Came with Promises of Development but Got Stuck on Religion'

Roat didn’t shy away from taking further jabs at the BJP. He noted that for the past month, BJP leaders have been on various attempts, focusing on de-listing and religion while making baseless statements against their party. "The truth is they have no real agenda left. They came with promises of development, but now they're stuck on religion," Roat said. He pointed out that unemployment is increasing in tribal areas, but the so-called 'double-engine government' isn't discussing job creation. "Schools are in shambles, lacking teachers and classrooms, yet BJP leaders seem incapable of discussing anything other than religion."

Roat also criticized Tribal Welfare Minister Babulal Kharadi, alleging that he is unaware of what’s happening in his own department because he's blinded by religious and party politics. He claimed that tribal children's hostels have become hubs of corruption and mismanagement. Roat mentioned that there is a school in Kharadi’s own constituency running classes from first to twelfth grades in a single room. "Since Kharadi became a minister, hostel conditions have deteriorated, as if hostels being run on contract. The way BJP is trying to inject religious fervor into the tribal regions will not succeed, as today's youth are more aware and want real progress. The community now demands education, healthcare, employment, and the proper implementation of constitutional provisions," Roat declared.

When asked about the potential alliance for the upcoming by-elections in Rajasthan, Roat stated that party decision would be final, but hinted that Bharat Adivasi Party is more likely to contest the elections independently.
