Mumbai- In a significant development from Mumbai, former 1990s film actress Mamta Kulkarni has been stripped of her religious title of Mahamandaleshwar by the Kinnar Akhada, a prominent religious organization. The decision was announced through an official statement from the organization's founder, Rishi Ajay Das.

The removal stems from multiple concerns, including Kulkarni's background in the entertainment industry and alleged past legal issues. A key factor in the decision involves broader organizational disputes, particularly regarding unauthorized agreements between the Kinnar Akhada and Juna Akhada.

In the official statement, Rishi Ajay Das also announced the removal of Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Laxmi Narayan Tripathi from their position. This action was taken due to Tripathi's involvement in making unauthorized agreements with Juna Akhada during the 2019 Prayagraj Kumbh, which the founder deemed both unethical and potentially deceptive.

The controversy has broader implications for the traditional structure of Akharas in Sanatan Dharma. The unauthorized agreement inadvertently suggested the existence of 14 Akharas rather than the traditional 13, creating additional theological complications.

Rishi Ajay Das expressed particular concern about the deviation from religious traditions and protocols. He emphasized that these actions have potentially undermined both the Kinnar Akhada's principles and broader religious customs. The founder stressed that this public announcement was necessary to maintain transparency and protect the interests of both the religious institution and its followers.
